The Marast demoparty is for those who no longer want to be blind consumers, those who want to experience something new, to explore it or just try it. The demoscene has been connected with 8-bit computers since it's birth. It's a free union of coders, graphic artists and musicians who create their presentations, both as a group project and solo. Members gather at the parties like this to check out new demos, intros, and so on. They also gather to chat about new technologies, computers, babes and whatever else.

Marast is not regular demoparty, we present a new concept. Marast is interested in catering to the needs of demoscene newbies, as reaching out to new members raises public awareness and interest.

Our general goal is to help orient and familiarize newbies with the scene, to motivate them and in the end to get them connected in the scene and to answer any questions they may have. This is primarily about moral support; we want to make the demoscene more accessible for newbies.

We are currently developing several different lectures and we're actively working on their final preparations (and AREN'T getting boozed up in the mean time!) ;)

Marast is aimed at PC users because it's unlikely that anyone would be interested in watching obscure oldschool demos. In spite of that we hope there will be an annual 8-bit party in the Czech Republic because traveling in time is kewl experience.

Demoparty Marast starts on 17.4.2004 and ends on 18.4.2004. We hope to see you there, both newbies and veterans; it'll be a great time for all.
